Story:

ACP Krishna(Venkatesh) lands in to find out Sailaja (Nayanatara), who is on the run, being the daughter of an accused (Murali Sharma). In this process Sailaja and Krishna falls in love with each other. But unfortunately, Sailaja then comes to know that, Krishna has done all this only to arrest her dad. This leads to the break up of the couple. How the things came into the form is what Babu Bangaram's rest.

Analysis:

Babu Bangaram story has no uniqueness. Director Maruthi just tried to use Venky's stardom to elevate many scenes. While the first half has few entertaining funny episodes, second half goes into the serious mode at once, disappointing many.

Several scenes are highly predictable and the twist, the makers tried to carry till the end, will be predictable by the common audience, just in the few minutes of the second half start. But it is the climax that is shot extremely well and is the major highlight of the entire film.

Performance:

Venkatesh is the major advantage of the film. It is his stupendous performance, that elevated the film, more than its possibility, making the audience sit and watch, even though the scenes are below average. Nayanatara, on the other side is equally good at her performance. It is her looks this time, that ranks more than her acting. 30 years Pruthvi as Battayi Babaji is hilarious, Brahmanandam goes dull this time.

Songs are shot well and Ghibran's music has a refreshing feel. Maruthi's story is age old, but he makes it interesting with entertaining screenplay. Dialogues are witty. Camera work is excellent and so are the production values.

Director Maruthi is successful in bringing back that vintage Venky, Tollywood is waiting and handled the last 15 minutes climax very well. He could have entertainment in second half, as the scarcity of fun can be noticed there.

Finally:

If you don't mind about story and predictable episodes, and willing to watch Vintage Venky, Babu Bangaram is available at your nearest theatres.
