Hillary Clinton registered her first victory against Donald Trump, in the ongoing US presidential elections.

Seven people in a tiny New Hampshire village cast their ballots at the stroke of midnight. The tally was out, just within a few minutes, and it witnessed four votes for Democrat Hillary Clinton and two for Donald Trump. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson won one vote, and there was a write-in vote for Mitt Romney, the losing Republican presidential candidate in 2012.

Meanwhile, two other hamlets in New Hampshire, which is on the Canadian border, also voted at midnight. The voting begins in earnest at 6:00 am (1100 GMT) in several states along the East Coast.

As the different states are in different time zones, while the elections will be resuming in one place, the results would be announced in another place. Votes will be counted immediately after the completion of the voting in all the places.
