Rating: 2.5/5

Story:

Jai Verma (Sidharth Malhotra) and Diya Kapoor (Katrina Kaif) are childhood friends. Jai is ambitious being a brilliant mathematician, but Diya’s only aim is to marry Jai.

Just when the duo are about to tie the knot, Jai feels that marriage affects his career and that follows a twist which lands the duo’s relation in trouble. How the couple united again and what type of consequences they faced in their life to get back? Answers for these questions can be found in the rest of Baar Baar Dekho movie.

Analysis:

Jai’s character which is running back of career and keeping the love and other emotions on the side track can be very much owned by the present youth. The first half is slightly stretched and just trying to fill the time, before pulling out a twist.

Adding to it, the second half has several repetitions of the first half and even the twists are not handled well. The main point Baar Baar Dekho explains is time stands above everything and it heals all the pains and brings back the love and all emotions in the people.

Performance:

Sidharth Malhotra has a great screen presence and that goes well with the girls out there. But his acting skills need a sure improvement. Same with Katrina Kaif’s acting skills. But she is surely a treat to all the erotic audience in the theatre, for her sizzling body moves in the songs. Ram Kapoor as Katrina’s dad gives out some quality fun.

Nitya Mehra does a good debut as director, but her style definitely can be related to that of Karan Johar’s type of storytelling. Music is good and even the songs are showcased well on the screen. Editing has flaws, especially in the second half.

Finally:

Not ‘Baar Baar’ but “Ek Bar” is ok to watch Baar Baar Dekho movie.
