Rating: 1.5/5

Story:

Raja, (Allari Naresh) a selfie addict, falls in love with a police commissioner’s daughter and marries her. On first night, while the couple is opening their gifts, a gift pack reveals photos of Raja with other girls and a letter. This leads to break up between the couple on the first night itself.

Raja who is vexed of his life, decides to commit suicide and for this he appoints Killer Kaki (Ravibabu). The latter, who finds the identities of his son in law, decides to kill him and steal the insurance money. Meanwhile, while Raja is attempting to commit suicide, he unnecessarily becomes the reason for someone’s death. That brings him several problems. How Raja escape from all these clutches finally, forms the Selfie Raja’s rest.

Analysis:

After Social media like Facebook, Whatsapp has become popular, it seems, film makers are getting the punch dialogues and stories from there itself, rather than writing on their own. Same happened with Selfie Raja. Bringing together few forwarded jokes on Whatsapp and punch dialogues on Facebook, and forming a story line is what made Selfie Raja a film.

No proper structure to the story and even the execution of it was silly. Instead of laughing for the so called comedy scenes in the film, the audience would laugh at the people waiting at the ticket counter for the next show.

Performance:

Though the film has the fantastic star casting like Naresh, Ravi Babu, Prudhvi etc, the director could not give them roles, which can bring out their skills, because of which Selfie Raja sounds low.

Now don’t ask me about the technical department. Be it editing, music, screenplay all have gone terribly wrong. Dialogues, especially the one liners are hilarious in parts.  Other than that, there is nothing to be discussed in the film. Direction is messy. There are several scenes, or to say 80% of the film appears clumsy, and makes audience fall into dilemma, as to what is exactly happening on the screen.

Finally:

Today is Friday, watch Extra Jabardasth on Etv.
