Story

Kalyan (Charan) and Vanitha (Rashmi Gautham), are a happy working couple in Hyderabad. Kalyan, one day goes to Vijayawada, leaving his wife alone. On his return, an unidentified person (Vasudev) calls Kalyan, threatening to kidnap Vanitha, if Kalyan does not oblige his demands. Kalyan, with no option left, accepts his demands. What are those demands and how that unknown person is related to the couple, forms the crux of Antham

Analysis

A crisp run time is the biggest advantage of Antham. The first ten minutes have been shot terrifically, raising the tempo of the film at once. The story line is weak and the way it is executed is even weaker. The suspense mood that is created is irritating.

Rashmi’s glamor, not to the surprise of many, is again hot and is a treat to the erotic audience. Especially in the remix song, her performance goes gaga with the mass centres, but she is not seen much in the film, unlike the makers promoted the film as an erotic thriller, which is fake. Sudarshan’s comedy is the main highlight of the film. Rest other things does not sound big.

Performance

Rashmi as said is not seen much, but in the few scenes she was opted, does an erotic job, which is what expected by who walk to the theaters, watching the hot anchor turned actress on the posters. Charan Deep does an average job.

The whole technical side of Antham has gone terribly wrong. Be it production values, music, editing, camera work, dialogues, everything ranks below average. Coming to the direction, Kalyan, to prove himself as a multi-talented guy, handled screenplay, story, editing, VFX, along with the direction. But that could not help the film from facing the fortune, as none of those worked well on the screen.

Finally

Antham, as per the title, will be ‘Antham’ from the theaters with not much delay.
