Story:

Sri Sri (Krishna), a professor leads a happy life with his wife (Vijaya Nirmala) and his daughter Swetha is a journalist working for a popular TV channel. She comes across a deadly scam being performed by Bikshapati(Posani) and JK(Murali Sharma) and decides to take action against them. But she gets murdered in this attempt.

Reacting to this, Sri Sri approaches law, but the political power of the baddies ranks above a common man like Sri Sri.  It was then, the male lead decides to take revenge on all the baddies. The procedure he followed, and the consequences he faced in this attempt, forms the rest of Sri Sri.

Analysis:

Krishna perfectly suits to the role of Sri Sri. The makers managed to present Krishna as what is required for the script, but not as a huge super star.  The first half is decent with some soothing episodes. But it is the second half, which has several down fall elements. As most of the story is revealed in the first half itself, the maker just tried to fill the time for the second half, with unnecessary and non-sink scenes.

Multiple flashbacks, predictable episodes and many such scenes actually test the audience patience in the second half. Story is predictable, adding to it, the screenplay is even more predictable with the old style of narration. Not more than 20 minutes you need, to find out what the film is going to show. But the way, the murder scenes and investigation scenes are shot, deserves a loud applause.

Performance:

The comeback of the super star Krishna, is really fine with the tailor made character. The emotion in the Sri Sri character, especially in the crime scenes, perfectly suits the star, who nailed such roles, when he is active as hero.

Vijaya Nirmala as Krishna’s wife is decent and gives what the character needs. Naresh, in his combination scenes with Krishna and Vijay Nirmala, impresses. Murali Sharma and Posani as baddies are fine and even rest other characters have done their assigned jobs well.

Camera work is one of the major highlights of Sri Sri. Production values are decent with some scenic episodes in village and city. Dialogues are ok, but editing needs repairing, especially in the second half, where there are several scenes, which can be easily chopped off.

Senior director Muppalaneni Shiva has done a decent job, with what he know and what he can do, without going for the experiments. But it is the screenplay, which makes most of the film predictable.

Finally:

It is the comeback of the Super Star, which appears as the major reason for one to move to the theaters. The role is tailor made to the star and if one is not concerned about the preditable story, Sri Sri would be a treat to the Super Star fans to watch their idol, performing some crime scenes, after long.
