Rating: 1.75/5

Story:

Shankar (Nara Rohit), a student locks horns with a corrupted ACP (John Vijay) who in turns tortures Shankar and labels him as a manic and drug addict. The way Shankar faced troubles and the way he came out of all these fluctuations, is what shows Shankara’s rest.

Analysis:

The narration levels are at the peak in the film. The way a normal student facing the troubles from a powerful baddie is shown well. Interval bang and even the twist that comes at the end is shot extremely well.

But the one big drawback of Shankara is the weak screenplay. With not many gripping elements, the audience will have to go for a nap unable to take the risk of watching those poorly narrated scenes. The film looses heavily on time lapse and the result is clearly visible in the varied visuals of the film.

Performance:

Nara Rohit is already done with the roles like Shankara earlier in the movies like Baanam. He once again showcases some quality emotions in the film. Regina gets a de-glamorous role and she is okay in it.

The camera work is just okay. The production values are worst and don’t ask me about the music and background score. Director Satya Prakash chose an interesting story, but failed in executing it with gripping screenplay.

Finally:

Better go to Lord Shankar temple, as you might at least get some blessings.
