Story:

Three independent working girls Minal Arora (Taapsee Pannu), Andrea Tariang and Falak Ali (Kirti Kulhari) share a rented apartment. One night, the 3 girls encounter, 3 young men and Minal accidentally hits Rajvir Singh (Angad Bedi). Angered over this, Rajvir and his friends harass three girls further. Minal, after having enough fight, lodges a police complaint. Its then Rajvir uses his influence and charges Minal for attempt to murder and extortion as a sex worker.

How did Minal gets support from a senile advocate Deepak Saigal. Did Rajvir get enough punishment from the law? What are the consequences the key characters went through? All the answers can be found in the rest of the film.

Analysis:

With the trailer itself, Pink secured a huge popularity for its thought provoking content and fortunately even the movie lived up to the expectations with a powerful narration throughout. The script strongly addresses the prejudices that are latched on to educated, self-earning, independently put up woman in Indian society.

The one important point movie raises is the harassment North Eastern girls are facing in the real life. Andrea’s characters were designed in such a way that any girl can relate to her personally. The script concentrates on several beliefs society has against the modern girls. Every frame is perfectly set to describe the situation girls are facing in the real life.

Performance:

Taapsee Pannu as Minal Arora takes the character to the next level with her stupendous performance. Kirti Kulhari equally does a promising job as Falak Ali, especially in the court scene, where she instantly breaks down. Andrea Tariang gets a minor role compared to the other two girls.

Needless to say, the legendary Amithab Bachchan came out with yet another brilliant performance. His arrogant and yet sensitive natured character will appear great and his star power will elevate it further.

While the story is engaging, Shantanu Moitra’s background score perfectly catches the mood of the scene and makes it even more engaging. All the songs are used in the background which clubs well with the mood of the film.

Coming to director, Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary surely has an influence from Shoojit Sircar and even Sujoy Ghosh. That can be found out, in the way Pink was narrated.

Finally:

What one expects after watching the trailer of Pink, that is perfectly delivered in the film.
