Story:

Love (Vikram) is the most wanted dreaded criminal, who is being searched by Malaysian police. An ex-RAW agent, Akhil (Vikram) is equally eager to catch hold of Love.

Knowing this, Malaysian police asks him to take up the case. Why is Akhil keen to find Love? Did he find Love and how Nayanthara and Nitya Menen will be connected to this mystery? All these questions can get the answers in the rest of Inkokkadu.

Analysis:

Vikram’s double role is the major plus point of Inkokkadu. The first half is filled with some chasing and investigation scenes and keeps the audience engaged throughout. The interval bang reveals a surprise and increases the expectations on the second half at once.

In the second half, the film loses its pace and things get slightly slow. Adding to it, two songs are misplaced and disturb the flow of the film. After the twists are revealed, the second half becomes predictable, but Vikram’s villain character adds enough spice to the second half.

Performance:

Needless to say, the boon to Indian film industry, Vikram once again excels in his acting. Especially as Love, Vikram is a treat to watch. Be it his dialogue delivery, walking style, body language and everything goes well with the audience in the theatre.

Nayanatara has a good screen presence and her role is different, which has a lot of scope to reveal her acting skills and the actress lives up to the expectations. Nitya Menen does not have any importance and her role is overshadowed by the stupendous performance of Vikram. The way all the characters have been styled is very good.

Along with the songs, even the background score given by Harris Jayraj sounds big and takes the film to the next level. Production values are excellent as every frame looks quite stylish. Camera work is very good and showcases Malaysia well. Editing has flaws as a song and few diverting scenes would have been trimmed easily.

When an investigation based script is chosen, screenplay plays a major role. But director Anand Shankar has written a tight screenplay in the first half, and failed to make the same magic to the second half and so the film falls flat.

Finally:

Inkokkadu is strictly for action film lovers, who do not bother about any other thing, other than action in the film.
