Rating: 3.5/5

Story:

As said before, Manamantha is the story of four different individuals.

Sairam (Mohanlal), who works in a supermarket, is eager to make it big in his job.

Gayatri (Gautami) on the other side tries to find happiness in straightforward things and is always looking out for her friends and family members.

Abhiram (Viswant Duddumpadi) is a bright student in his college and will be first to help others.

Mahitha (Raina Rao) a schoolgirl is of the same kind who has helping nature. How these four lives get changed with an incident is what forms the crux of Manamantha.

Analysis:

While the beginning of the film makes one anticipate about some family happenings, the director Chandrasekhar Yeleti brilliantly turns it into an entertaining and unique thriller genre. The story line is not a deal, but the screenplay is what should be appreciated. Several unexpected twists make the audience experience the edge of the seat. The way the suspense is handled and the way it reveals at the end is executed well on the screen. However visuals are not upto the mark and Anisha Ambrose character lacks any clarity.

Performance:

One big point about Manamantha is the perfect casting. Mohanlal, Gauthami and children have perfectly nailed their performance. Especially, the way, Mohanlal carried every emotion, deserves a loud applause. Gauthami does her best as a housewife, coming out with a top notch performance. Kerintha fame Viswant and Raina Rao just walks out with a splendid performance.

Mahesh’s backround music is very good and production values are on the top notch. Editing is perfect and all the four different story lines have been handled well on the screen with an interesting screenplay. Dialogues are superb. Director Chandra Sekhar Yeleti took a simple story line and elaborated it on the screen with some engaging episodes.

Finally:

For its unique family thriller elements, Manamantha may even work out well commercially.
