Rating: 2.5/5

Story:

Jakkanna’s (Sunil) character is to help those who have helped him in the past and do not mind to go any end for it. With this mentality, he sets his eyes on a gangster Bairagi (Kabir Singh), who happens to save Jakkanna in his childhood. It was then, Jakkanna decides to help him in any way and these trials of him, will one day reflect on Bairagi’s illegal activities. The baddie will then decide to kill Jakkanna.

How Jakkanna comes out of these clutches and where does Mannara Chopra involves in this set up is what shows the rest of Jakkanna.

Analysis:

After a debacle like Krishnashtami, Jakkanna is definitely a slight relief to Sunil. But the way the plot was dealt in the film requires audience to do some brain work. Adding to it, Sunil’s looks in the film appears odd. The makers could have taken care of, to appear the male lead better.

The villain’s character was shown powerful in the beginning, but as the time passes, his character will appear as the butt of the joke. Many characters jump in without any purpose and that makes the audience fall in dilemma. However, the healthy comedy from Saptagiri and 30 years Pruthvi lights up Jakkanna. The first half is entertaining and even the interval bang is good, but it is the second half, which makes one run out of the theatre.

Performance:

Sunil carried most of the film on his shoulders and there are scenes, which though do not have enough content, but came out well with the stupendous performance of Sunil. Mannara Chopra made a decent screen presence.

Dinesh’s music goes well with the audience and even his background score elevated the film well. Dialogues are witty and there are flaws in editing, which can be felt on the screen. Production values are good, which made Jakkanna appear rich.

Director Vamsi Krishna has started the film on an interesting note and even carried the film well till the interval. But it is the second half, where he made most of the scenes appear silly, giving a back seat to the story and bringing forward some senseless so called comedy.

Finally:

Due to the hilarious comedy elements, Jakkanna may go well at the C centre, but the rest can give it a skip.
