Rating: 2.25/5

Story:

Sanjay, (Satyam Rajesh) a film director, along with Sandhya (Sushma Raj) starts to one of his friend’s guest house, to have sex with the girl. But due to the unforeseen situations, the duo had to stop at a jungle and had to get into a nearby bungalow. It is in that bungalow, Gayathri (Trisha) a devil, threatens Sanjay. What are the consequences he faced and why is Gayathri behaving in that way? The answers for these questions can be found in Nayaki film.

Analysis:

Trisha will be introduced as the devil and the way she tortures Rajesh and plays with him in that bungalow appear good to watch. The first half completely goes on the same formula and even just before the beginning of the flash back, the story line repeats the similar scenes, which tests the patience of the audience. Character named ‘Malle Puvvu’ is another disappointment in the film. Adding to it, flash back which raised the expectations with the scenes till then disappoints with the routine line.

Horror comedy genres have become popular in the recent times, after Raghava Lawrence has introduced it through Kanchana. Nayaki movie was made on the similar lines, but the movie has handled the comedy well, but could not come out with engaging screenplay, which what makes Nayaki flat.

Performance:

Trisha as devil performs very well. It is almost like her career best performance. She spreads loud laughs on one side with her devil gestures and equally injects fear in the audience. Satyam Rajesh’s comedy in the negative shade is another highlight of the film and it will go well with the masses. Sushma as an innocent girl is decent.

Though the story line is good, director Govi has failed in executing it properly. But he carried well the devil scenes and few of the comedy scenes, which have come out well. Songs are below average, but Sai Karthik’s back ground score is impressive in Nayaki. Editing is poor and production values are average. Production values are good and direction needs to be repaired and that can be felt.

Finally:

Nayaki can be bearable up to the first half, for its healthy comedy.
