Story:

Raman (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is a drifting serial killer and Raghav (Vicky Kaushal) is a police, who is trying to solve his daddy issues by dousing himself with drugs and women. Raman finds a partner in Raghav, who is equally cruel. Where does the duo’s horrifying journey lead to, and will that have any impact on their lives big time? The rest of Raman Raghav 2.0 answers these questions.

Analysis:

Right from the first frame, you will start hating Nawaz for his brutal character, killing the people, whose purpose behind it, is lately revealed. Raman’s fascinating descriptions of his delusions, his deranged thinking and his extra-casual approach towards murder are wonderful to witness. His fascination with the real Raman Raghav has been nicely embedded into the script.

The sexual assault of his own sister (Amruta Subhash), his initial release by the police or his love for chicken curry and several such scenes appear lively. There is no such proper structure to the story. The murders take place, without any convincing reason, but are horrifying for sure.

Performance:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is once again at his best. His performance as the brutal serial killer is scary and also lively. In the scenes he is, he drags all the attention of the audience, letting them not to look at any other thing on the screen.

Vicky Kaushal, on the other hand, as a cocaine-addicted cop is good. The way the character dealt in an unrealistic way, takes off the flair of Vicky, even though his part of job was good. Sobhita Dhulipala as Raghav’s estranged girlfriend and Amruta Subhash as Ramanna’s sister is decent.

The music tracks especially background scores, perfectly suits the mood of the film and the way, the film captured Mumbai locations takes thumbs up. Editing is ok and production values are decent. Though the story has no clarity, director Anurag Kashyap managed to come out with some worth watching scenes in the film.

Finally:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the oxygen pipe of Raman Raghav 2.0 and if you are willing to dive into the convoluted mind of a serial killer, this film is for you, otherwise, it can be given a miss.
