Story:

Sandhya (Niharika) is a doctor and she is in love with Surya (Naga Shourya). Rao Ramesh, the father of Surya, is a small time politician, who aims to see his son as an MLA. Surya, respecting his father tries to be a politician, but Sandhya asks his love to be away from the politics as it is risky.

In this situation, Surya kidnaps a dalit, who is relative to home minister and so will be sent to jail but gets bail later. Once he returns from jail, he will be forced to choose between Sandhya or his father. What decision Surya takes and where does that lead to? The answers for these questions form the rest of Oka Manasu.

Analysis:

No doubt Niharika has got a promising debut through the film, but it may not go well with the ‘C’ class, as the commercial elements are nil. Oka Manasu is a light romantic film. Most of the scenes are occupied by the lead actors and that actually makes one find tough to watch the pair all the time. Adding to it, the love tracks appear quite filmy and artificial, which can cost big to the film. But the emotional climax can again go well with the movie.

Performance:

Niharika Konidela is one big reason that created all the hype for the movie and makes it appear big. Living up to the expectations, even Niharika has done a promising job. Her expressions, especially in the romantic scenes, will go well with the youth audience. Her girl thing in saree, may appear too classy, but she managed to fade away that opinion through her fantastic body language.

Naga Shourya, on the other hand, has an equal role to the female lead and he has come up with the lovable performance one more time. Rao Ramesh’s character attracts big time. No other character has any importance to discuss here.

Sunil Kashyap’s music deserves loud applause. His soul rendering melodious score has blended well with the visuals. The enchanting visuals compliment the mesmerizing music and it is the backbone of the movie. Dialogues are dry and could not make any impact. Production values are ok and editing needs tuning at several places, which can even be felt by the normal audience. Comedy is nil and there are no commercial elements. Director Ramaraju has tried to give the film a romantic ride throughout, but failed in executing it properly.

Finally:

Light weight romance and Niharika’s expressions makes Oka Manasu, a onetime watch that too for only multiplex audience.
