Analysis

Gentleman is completely a different subject and one needs dare to make a film on a subject like this. Most of the film revolves around Nivedha Thomas. The real action starts in the second half and most of the proceedings are handled well with the gripping screenplay. Run time, which has become the most common problem for most of the films recent times, even could affect Gentleman.

A few of the scenes in the first half can be edited to make the film appear better. The way Surabhi’s character is conceived during the climax and the way she gets to know the reality, all these things could have been shown in a better way. However, the film completely lacks the commercial aspect, which may sound low with the regular audience.

Performance

Nani should be appreciated for accepting a role like this. Though his character takes the side track, and Niveditha Thomas will be focused more, he still managed to get on well with the character he was offered. Niveditha as said has lot to do with the film and she nailed her role with her stupendous performance in every frame. Surabhi, Avasarala Srinivas and rest other actors, have done proper justice to the characters they are assigned for.

Coming to music, Mani Sharma has done a decent job with the songs, and has given his best for the background score, which helped for the script to elevate well. Dialogues are decent and camera work deserves a loud applause. Production values are good enough.

Director Mohana Krishna has done a pretty good job with Gentleman. His narration levels, maintaining the suspense till the end, are attractive.

Finally

Gentleman will go well with the ‘A’ Centres. But the lack of much commercial aspects may disappoint the other sections of audience.
