Teacher or student? Whose mistake it is?
If it is not parents, it can be either police or teacher, who possess rights to hit the people, to put them on the right track. But the impact of these rights over the decades has completely changed.
Students started moving to the police, when the teacher hits beyond the limit. They are even shooting the entire scene on the cell phone and producing it as an evidence, which is further worsening the condition of the teachers in the present situation.
However, hitting the students beyond the limit should not be encouraged, as it would show the severe impact on the student’s health condition. Revealing one such situation, a 10th class student suffered severe head injuries after his teacher hit him with a duster in Jagadgirigutta, Hyderabad.
Reportedly, the boy was beaten for being absent for 3 days due to an illness and being unable to pay a fine. He was rushed to a private hospital on Wednesday, where he underwent a surgery and was put on ventilator support. However, the school authorities denied the allegations and said that the teacher only scolded the student.
There are numerous situations in the past, where the teachers were dragged to the police station for hitting the students beyond the limit. Neither the students, nor the teachers can be blamed completely.
Teachers should be able to tackle the students explaining them the impact of their mistake. Not just a subject teacher, a school teacher should even be able to teach life lessons to bring their students onto the track. Only then students would be able to know the significance of respecting teacher and the situations like above would not repeat.
