Dussehra 2016 auspicious timings

Symbolizing the victory of Lord Rama over Demon Ravana, Dussehra is celebrated by the devotees. This year, the auspicious day is falling on October 11th, 2016.

On this day, people enact scenes from Ramayana and showcase the final moments of the battle which is full of drama. The drama ends when the actor who plays Lord Rama’s role burns the effigy of Ravana and other evil things. The 10th day of Shukla is considered as Dussehra. Citing bird Neelkanth is considered auspicious on Dussehra. 

The families worship the goddess, after the women draw a special image of Dussehra with wheat flour. The festival ends with Visarjan of idols of Goddess in river, pond or sea. It is widely believed that Dussehra is a great time to begin with anything as it has the blessings of God.

Navratri Navami Tithi Begins at = 22:30 on 9th October 2016

Aparahna Puja Time = 13:35 to 15:55 (2 Hours 19 Mins)

Dashami Tithi Begins at = 22:53 on 10th October 2016

Dashami Tithi Ends at = 22:28 on 11th October 2016

Originated from Sanskrit, Dussehra means Dasha (Ten) and Hara means ‘defeat’. Hence, the word itself symbolizes the defeat of 10 headed Ravana on the day of Dussehra. On the occasion of Dussehra, here we take this opportunity to inform you about the auspicious muhurat timings.

Dashami tithi will begin from 22:53 on 10th Oct, 2016 and will end by 22:28 on 11th October 2016. Vijay Muhurat is between 14:21 to 15:08 and the duration is 0 Hours 46 Mins. The Puja muhurat for Dussehra will fall in Aparahana puja which will start from 13:35 to 15:55.
