Visaaranai, an Indian film to Oscars
Visaaranai, a Tamil film is India’s official entry to Oscars from India, in Foreign Language Film category.
Visaaranai is based on the police brutality had already bagged three National Film awards. With that confidence, this film was chosen as the official entry to the Academy awards. The film even made it to 72nd Venice Film Festival before its release in the theaters.
Kollywood star hero cum producer, Dhanush produced Visaranai under his banner Wunderbar Productions. The film is based on M. Chandrakumar’s novel ‘Lock Up’. The 89th Academy Awards event is scheduled for in February 2017 in Los Angeles.
