Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is nearing its release. By this time, if it is any other movie, Karan Johar would have dragged all the casting to make them get busy with the promotions, but the filmmaker is unable do it this time, because of the controversy surrounded the film.

Including Fawad Khan, a Pakistani artist in the film is the one reason, that made film fall into the huge criticism. As there are demands to ban the film, Karan is unable to risk of promoting his film. However, Ranbir Kapoor is doing his style of promotions. The movie's leading lady Anushka Sharma is busy with "The Ring", a Shah Rukh Khan's starrer. 

On the other side, as Aishwarya Rai  Bachchan is playing a small role in the film, she is reluctant to promote the film, as that would send wrong signals to the audience. So reportedly she would be participating in the promotions along with Anushka later.
