After Vicky Kaushal was out of the one more historical project of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’, big star names like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan are being heard, to play the male lead, opposite the major lead Padmavati character. Deepika Padukone bagged the title role and Ranveer Singh will be playing the baddie Alauddin Khilji role.

Rawal Ratan Singh is the male character that needs a star to play. Though in the beginning, Vicky Kaushal was considered to play the role, Deepika was reportedly unwilling to act opposite just a 3 films old actor and even felt embarrassed as the duo would have few intimate scenes. So the Chennai express star reportedly felt an experienced star would be comfortable for her to share the screen.
