Jharkhand RS polls: Warrants against MLAs to prevent them from voting- Congress
The Congress party has alleged that, the BJP government in Jharkhand is issuing the arrest warrants against opposition MLAs to prevent them from voting in the Rajya Sabha elections.
On Friday night, the police reached the Medica hospital, where Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA, Chamdra Linda is being treated, to arrest in a case going back to 2013. However, the Congress and JMM leaders gathered at the hospital to oppose the arrest.
Nirmala Devi and Devendra Singh were also issued warrants, but they both were absconding and were expected to turn out for the voting. Police personnel have been deployed outside the Assembly to arrest them. Voting for the two Rajya Sabha seats from Jharkhand has began at 9 AM.
