An eight-year-old girl in Delhi has allegedly pretended to be dead to escape from the clutches of a rapist. 

Speaking about the issue, the victim’s father said, “From what she told us, it appears that the man abducted her around 1.30 AM while she was sleeping in a cot outside the house. When she realized that she was somewhere else with a stranger, she tried to scream but he gagged her mouth.”

The culprit, after abducting the little one, took her to a vacant plot and allegedly tried to get over her. Threatened over this, the girl pretended to be dead, turning immobile totally. 

This confused the culprit, who tried to initially pinch the girl to test if she was alive. But the smart girl’s immobility scared the culprit, who then left the girl there and ran away. The little one then got up and went back to her home. The accused is even a minor, who allegedly gagged the girl, taking her to a isolate spot and raped her.

“We were horrified when my wife spotted blood stains on the bed sheet and, meanwhile, my daughter also started complaining about pain in her lower abdomen and private parts,” he said, adding that, the girl later broke down and explained about the sexual assault she faced.

Adding to it, the victim’s father further said that, her daughter is complaining about sore throat, for which she is finding tough to eat. The girl is currently in the hospital and her condition is found to be stable. “We saw the CCTV clip but could not identify the accused. We got to know from police that he lives in the same neighborhood,” the girl’s father said.

The victim is a third class student and her father works at a private enterprise, while her mother handles the house. She even has a 7-month-old sister.
