While the wars are still ongoing between India and Pakistan, a friendly gesture from the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has won the hearts of a visiting Pakistani youth delegation.
On September 27th, a team of 19 young women visited India to participate in the Global Youth Peace festival in Chandigarh. But after the surgical strikes of the Indian army across the Line of Control, their scheduled return on October 4th looked uncertain. Adding to it, they came under the pressure from home to return immediately.
Sushma Swaraj assured a safe return of all the women, after Aliya Harir, the convener of the peace forum Aghaze Dosti - an India-Pakistan friendship initiative, met the minister on October 1st.
Felt happy over the gesture of the Minister, Harir tweeted, "Extremely overwhelmed. Spoke to @SushmaSwaraj ji who assured that Pakistani delegation of #GYPF2016 will reach Pakistan back safe."
Responding to it, the minister tweeted, "Aliya - I was concerned about your well being kyonki betiyan to sabki sanjhi hoti hain."
