A few days, a picture revealing a man carrying his dead wife on shoulders has gone viral in the social media, with several criticisms on the hospital staff. While the Indian media has telecast the video of Dana Majhi carrying his wife, for one day and kept the issue aside, Prime Minister of Bahrain Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, was moved over the issue severely and offered financial help to the poor man's family. 

According to the Indian embassy sources, “The (Bahraini) PM responded to media reports on the episode and made an offer for humanitarian assistance. He has decided to make a contribution but we have not yet received official confirmation on the amount of money or when it will be made.”

After Amandei, his wife, died of Tuberculosis at Kalahandi district headquarters hospital in Bhawanipatna, Majhi was allegedly refused help by the hospital staff in carrying the dead body back to his village 60 km away. It was then Majhi carried the corpse for 12 km until a reporter arranged an ambulance for him.
