Manmohan Singh responds on AP special status
Ex-Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, who is mostly known for maintaining mum in any kind of situation, has this time opened up on the ongoing special status issue of Andhra Pradesh.
Singh, speaking in Rajyasabha, has said that he has made 6 promises during the Telugu states bifurcation. NDA government has the responsibility to keep up all those promises, among which special status is one.
“Even Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was ok with the promises and even the then cabinet approved those and so even we sought the President to issue the ordinance. But as the elections schedule has been released, the ordinance was halted,” Singh said, raising a new point.
Arun Jailtey, on the other hand, has said that, the special status issue would satisfy everyone, as the government is planning such decision accordingly.
