Centre avoids special status, Congress ignores GST bills
TDP and BJP issued a whip to their Rajya Sabha Members to be present in the House throughout the day debate & voting on supposed to produce crucial Bills.
While the Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao moved Private Member Bill seeking Special Status for Andhra Pradesh, Centre is firm on the passage of GST Bill in the Monsoon Session, which the Congress is not willing to support.
Reacting to the situation, TG Venkatesh, TDP Rajya Sabha Member has advised Congress High Command to place a condition before Centre if it is really concerned about AP. The condition would be that Congress would support GST Bill only if NDA Government accords AP with Special Category Status.
