Chennai Infosys employee Swathi murder case has took a new turn now, after the father of the accused Ram Kumar said that, it was police who has sliced his son’s throat.

Paramasivam, father of Ram Kumar, said that his son is innocent and is being targeted just because they are dalits. “Two policemen came to our house on July 1st and asked about Muthu Kumar, we said that there are no such people with that name. The police, still not believing rushed inside and took my son Ram Kumar with them, handcuffing,” Paramasivam said. 

“I believe that my son was arrested in a case of mistaken identity. As the police were in great pressure from court, they fixed my son as the accused,” said Paramasivam. 

When he was asked that, Ram Kumar has admitted to the crime, Paramasivam said, “My son's throat has been cut by the police so how can he make statements. It is a case of mistaken identity.”

Meanwhile, Tirunelveli SP Vikram said that the allegations such as these are quite common in cases and he has no comments to make, adding that, police has done their job and the case is being investigated.

It is known that, allegedly Ram Kumar has sliced the throat of Swathi, a techie, in Chennai railway station few days back and Ram Kumar was taken into custody, after identifying him through the CCTV footage.
