India’s first river linking project in AP, begins today
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today has released water from Pattiseema Life Irrigation Scheme (PLIS). As this is the first river linking project in the country, the moment is being considered as a historic moment. Naidu released the water as all 24 pumps are commissioned. PLIS has started its full fledged functioning from today.
24 6300HP motors and another 24 5300HP motors were commissioned and they can have the capacity to life 8500 Cu.Secs of water. This PLIS also has capacity to lift 80 tmcft of water in 110 flood days.
Adding to this, it will also serve the water needs of Krishna and Guntur district farmers. In fact, the benefits have reached the farmers even before the completion of project.
