Popular and senior Bollywood actor Om Puri, breathed his last, this morning at his residence in Mumbai. The news has been confirmed by one of his dearest friends and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, through his twitter.
Om Puri was back home last evening, after participating in a movie shoot. The driver who tapped the doors of the actor this morning, for a good time, had to alert others, speculating the seriousness.
Debuted with a Marathi film titled “Ghashiram Kotwal”, Om Puri along with Naseeruddin Shah, studied at the Film and Television Institute of India and at the National School of Drama.
Along with a number of Indian films, he was also seen in a meaty and memorable role opposite Helen Mirren in Steven Spielberg’s 2014 American comedy drama ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’.
