There is no guarantee that a remake can be a sure shot success. Several films like Bodyguard, Maro Charitra could not reach the expectations. The reason behind this is, the remakes are just replaced with the stars and everything remained the same with the same scenes and screenplay. This lacks the nativity and so has to face a debacle sometimes.

On the other side, though Gabbar Singh is a remake of Dabangg, the Telugu version is made with several changes, adding enough comedy and other entertainment episodes. So the film secured a huge success. 

Now on the similar lines, even Premam director Chandu Mondeti says that, he made several changes to Premam script for the Telugu version, and the film appears as a fresh one, rather than a remake.

"Malayalam version has several references to old Malayalam films and even the characters smell Malayalam. But in Telugu version, all those elements are handled well. So we are very confident of the success," Chandu said.

Premam is all set to hit the theaters this Friday and its that day, the impact of Telugu Premam can be known.
