Veteran film actor J.V. Ramana Murthy passed away, after a brief hospital stay, being treated for a heart related ailment. He was 83.
Ramana Murthy was popular for his role ‘Girisam’ in the epoch-making play Kanyasulkam. Started his film career in 1957 with the movie MLA, Mr. Murthy was later cast in over 100 films among which Maro Charitra , Idi Kadha Kadu and Aakali Rajyam are popular.
Though started his career as a supporting hero, he was mostly offered the roles of a benevolent father or a temple priest. He is the brother of the popular actor JV Somayajulu, who got identified with his stupendous performance in Shankarabharanam. Even Somayajulu lost his life, with the health related issues.
