Villagers lock officials in Panchayat office
Medak district, Kolcharam mandal, Rangampeta villagers, have locked Deputy Tahsildar, VRO and other officials in the village Panchayat office, complaining that they are not giving the daily usables from the ration shop. About 240 villagers did not get ration for the past 4 months, as all such beneficiaries names were out of the list.
Irritated over this, the villagers locked the officials and started protesting on the road. Knowing this, the police had reached the spot and spoke to RDO and also assured half of the villagers to get rice by Wednesday and rest of them soon. It was then, the public compromised and withdrew the protest.
