Over two years after the bifurcation of the Telugu states, Jairam Ramesh from Congress, has opened up on some key issues that took place during the bifurcation, through his book, “Old History New Biography”.

Jai Ram in his book has said, “Congress got good boost to declare Telangana, after TDP, BJP and YSRCP were positive  about it. In the beginning,  several leaders supported for Rayal Telangana too (including Rayalaseema in Telangana).”

Bill was made for Rayal Telangana- Jairam Ramesh

Surprisingly, leaders like Asadduddin Owaisi were positive about Rayal Telangana. Even bill was made to include Rayalseema into Telangana. But the Congress refused to club it and only declared Telangana as the separate state.

Uncompromising KCR

“Though Congress tried to convince several times, KCR was uncompromising and  demanded the declaration of Telangana. As the situations started uglier with  destroying statues on Tank bund, hundreds of suicides, we had to come down,” the book reads.
