Congress leader D Sridhar Babu and his followers thronged and tried to disturb the public hearing on Kaleswaram Project at Peddapalli three days ago. TRS and Congress workers clashed and finally the situation came into control only after police arrested the Sridhar Babu and his followers.

 Telangana state Irrigation Minister Harish Rao reacting on that developments asks whether the Congress leaders want the farmers commit suicides forever. He flayed them for creating hurdles in the project works. He also strongly criticized senior Congress leaders K Janareddy and Shabbir Ali for backing Sridhar Babu and his followers. He said that state Congress leaders appear to be not interested in the state development. However, farmers who are ging to be displaced with the projects are voluntarily coming forward offering their lands for projects and insisting for speedy construction. Harish Rao re-iterated that his government will spearhead with its plans to build irrigation projects and will supply water to 1 crore acres in the state as soon as possible.
