Warangal Collector Amrapali statue in Ganesh Mandap
Warangal urban Collector Amrapali, who often catches the media attention for one reason or the other, gets it again but this time for a great reason. Some youth of the city, who are quite impressed with her working style and dedication, reflected their affection towards her by installing her statue in Ganesh Mandap arranged at Bapu Nagar in Khazipeta.
They put Lord Ganesha statue in her lap as if she is taking care of him like mother. Perhaps, this is first time in the country for an IAS Officer to get such rare honor from the citizens. The pictures of her statue were posted in the Face book with Hamara Warangal and they became viral in no time. But, this may also stir controversy without her fault, if someone in either ruling or opposition parties raise objections on her statue.
