Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is prepared to quit his post owing moral responsibility to the two consequent train accidents took place in UP in five days gap.

Railway Board Chairman AK Mittal submits his resignation letter to Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu owing moral responsibility for the two consequent train accidents that took place in UP in five days gap. The latter also prepared to step down for the same reasons. Today, Suresh Prabhu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and offered to step down, but he was asked to wait. 

Responding to the opposition parties demands for his resignation, he said that he already met PM Modi offering to quit, but asked to wait. He said like anyone else, he also feels very sad for the loss of lives and for the injured in the train accidents. He said that he has been striving very hard for the last 3 years to upgrade the Railways in all aspects as a part of ‘New India’ ambition of PM Modi. He said during the last 3 years period there were lots of improvement and development took place in the Indian Railways, which actually should have been done decades ago. He said that his ambition is to serve the people of the country better than ever and not merely holding the Railway Ministry.
