A 1000 page Telangana Encyclopaedia (Telangana Vignana Sarvashvam), is being made in the Telugu language, by Alikatte Shankar, a writer.
He said that, he got the idea of bringing one such project, during the initial days of the state formation. Adding further Shankar said that, he had completed more than half pertaining to the encyclopaedia and assured to wind it off and release it by the state formation day, next year.
Shankar earlier wrote the biography of Chakali Ilamma and also had experience in writing novels, poetry, short stories etc, besides being the editor to Autobiography of Dusharala Satayanarayana, who formed Jala Sadhana Samithi to fight for water rights in Telangana.
As of now, Shankar had gathered information sufficient for 600 pages and is yet to collect for another 400. Reportedly, the encyclopaedia contains everything about Telangana like the state’s culture, historical places, literary personalities, tourism spots, prominent persons and many others.
Along with detailing the several prominent incidents of the state, the encyclopaedia even contains the articles on over 500 poets and 500 writers, and 600 other prominent personalities.
