Telangana government adviser D. Srinivas and former minister Capt. V. Laxmikantha Rao (retd) are nominated for Rajya Sabha, from the state. Telangana Chief Minister KCR has took this decision, after shortlisting a few of the eligible candidates.

In the last year, Srinivas has joined TRS, relieving to the Congress party, for which he was serving since decades. KCR was utmost happy with the entry of such a senior leader, speculating that, it would benefit for the growth of the TRS party.

On the other hand, Capt. Rao (retd) was the TRS nominee Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s reign as the CM of united AP, and is also a close relative of late PM P.V. Narasimha Rao and the younger brother of former Congress MP, late Voditela Rajeswara Rao. 

The first Rajya Sabha biennial elections from Telangana, after the state formation, will be unanimous, with the announcement of the TRS 2 candidates, if the current strength of the MLAs is taken into consideration.
