Telangana government is reportedly planning to revamp the government run educational institutions in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister, Kadiyam Srihari, will lead the team in this regard and revamp the infrastructure in the government schools, junior colleges, polytechnics and degree colleges across the state.
Hyderabad district has 688 government schools, among which primary constitute 500, 7 upper primary and 181 high schools. 123475 students together have enrolled in all these schools, among whom 74691 are at primary level, 1430 at upper primary and 47,354 at high school level.
Out of 220 Urdu medium schools, 184 are primary, 3 upper primary and 33 high schools. The new infrastructure mapping will focus on 14 parameters.
All the needed facilities like the new buildings, electricity, toilets, running water, drinking water through RO (reverse osmosis) plants, compound wall, science lab, computer lab and library facility, dual desks, biometric system and CC (closed circuit) cameras, will be made available at all the government schools, including Urdu medium. Reportedly, the works will begin soon after the reopening of the schools.
