On June 2nd, Telangana formation day, the government is reportedly going to announce about the hikes, which are supposed to be done, long back.

Perhaps due to the back to back elections, power tariff, RTC fares, property tax etc, which are thought of facing the hike, are kept on hold for the last two years.

After the recent Paleru elections, now there are no other elections in the near future, and so the government is considering to implement the hikes any time during June and August.

Except GHMC, the rest other municipal corporations and municipalities, are facing the huge financial crisis, as the property tax witnessed no hike for nearly 14 years. Hike here could be in the range of 10% to 30%, the reports say.

In January this year, the hike proposals have reached CM’s office, but are kept on hold keeping in mind the civic body elections on the row. A huge loss of Rs. 700 crores was suffered by the corporation in 2015-16, and since last October, it has been seeking Rs. 10% bus fare hike. APSRTC has hiked the bus charges in November, but TSRTC did not make any such move till date.

Even several professional courses like MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, MBA etc would witness the hike in the fees, soon. 

Revenue department, on the other side, has been seeking, from July 2014, to increase in the land value which was kept pending till date. The hike is expected to come out this August.

TS Power Distribution Companies have already sought permission from TSERC to hike the power tariff, which comes into implementation, any time in the next 3 months.
