The 68th Republic Day celebrations have been conducted in New Delhi at the annual parade. The highlight of this year’s celebrations is a 149 member United Arab Emirates Presidential Guard.
On the occasion of the Republic Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate and also observed a 2-minute silence as a tribute to the fallen soldiers.
With Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Chief Guest, a 149-member UAE military contingent took part in India’s Republic Day parade. The United Arab Emirates’ was the first marching contingent and marked the start of the annual colorful parade down the Rajpath. They presented a ceremonial salute to the President Pranab Mukherjee.
