Celebrating the 68th Republic Day and also 7th National Voters Day, students and youth of Nalgonda conducted a huge rally with 2017 feet national flag from the District Collectorate to the Clock Tower Centre in which officials of various departments and students participated.

District Collector Gaurav Uppal on Wednesday asked the students and youth, who crossed 18 years of age, to enroll their names as voters and exercise their franchise in the elections without fail.

Speaking at a meeting at Clock Tower Centre, District Collector Gaurav Uppal said that, increase in the voting percentage would ensure sound democratic system. There was a need to encourage the eligible youth to enroll as voters and also make sure that the voters utilize their voting right.

The district Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy stated that vote is a powerful weapon in a democracy. Youth should take the responsibility of educating the people about the significance of the vote.
