Return of Telangana natives
After the successful implementation of Mission Kakatiya Phase I and Phase II works, Telangana state is witnessing a reverse migration of labor.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, who held a review meeting in regard to this, said, "People who migrated from Telangana are gradually returning to their places, and plan to take up different employment activities including fisheries.”
He said that laborers who earlier migrated to other parts of country from Telangana, had started reverse migration. “Such labor had already returned to Narayankhed, Andole, Narsapur and other parts of the State in substantial numbers,” Rao said.
The Irrigation Minister also assured enough work opportunities in the rural areas at least for the next two years as Mission Kakatiya Phase I and II were yielding positive results. The phase III works were also in the pipeline.
