The Central government has agreed to release over Rs. 700 crores of funds to one of the prestigious programme of Telangana government- Mission Bhagiratha.
The Centre earlier released Rs. 98.54 crores for the project. But Rural water supply, Engineer in Chief, Surendar Redy has met NITI Aayog officials in Delhi and explained about the difficulties, the Telanganites, in a few of the rural areas, are facing due to Fluoride.
Even, the Irrigation minister Harish Rao and other TRS leaders took the lead in convincing the Centre, which then agreed to release Rs. 701.46 crores towards Mission Bhageeratha. Telangana Chief Minister KCR is aiming to provide purified drinking water to every house. If the project, with the support of the released funds, takes a top gear now, the TS CM could achieve his aim soon.
