KCR releases Rs. 60 crores for BCs
The Telangana government has released Rs. 60 crores as funds towards the ‘Mahatma Jyothiba Phule BC Overseas Vidya Nidhi’ scheme for nearly 300 BC students, to pursue education abroad.
The BC Welfare Department, out of the sanctioned amount, will allocate Rs. 20 lakhs to each student. The state government has released the funds under the scheme ‘Special Development Funds for Welfare and Development Activities’ during 2016-17.
The Managing Director, Telangana Backward Classes, Finance Corporation, will be responsible to draw the released funds and incur the expenditure strictly as per the guidelines and procedures. The Commissioner, BC Welfare Department, through monitoring the progress on a regular basis, will ensure the effective utilization of the amount sanctioned.
