Swachh Bharath Mission Secretary Parameswaran Iyer appreciated Missions Bhagiratha programme in Telangana, terming it as one of its kind programme in the country.

When Iyer called Telangana Chief Minister KCR at Pragathi Bhavan, he said, "Mission Bhagiratha will be a model for other States to follow in the country if the works are completed with the same missionary zeal.” Iyer also recalled that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi told him that Missions Bhagiratha was one of the best in the country.

He further assured that, the Centre would release funds for the fluoride-affected areas in the State. Under Mission Bhagiratha, 1,041 fluoride-affected villages are being supplied with clean drinking water. So, the Centre will release Rs 800 crores shortly, he said, adding that after completion of works under the project Centre will also grant funds as incentives.
