Amidst of the back to back protest of Tamilians to lift ban on Jallikattu, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. Panneerselvam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested an ordinance or special order to bypass the ban. 

Mr. Panneerselvam said that along with the support of the Centre, Tamil Nadu government would soon take the necessary steps to bring back Jallikattu. "You will soon see the steps. Wait, good will happen," he said.

Even Modi tweeted about the issue, saying that he had told Tamil Nadu CM he appreciated the cultural significance of Jallikattu, but the case is in Supreme Court. “The Centre would be supportive of steps taken by the State Government,” the Prime Minister assured.

Adding to it, Mr. Panneerselvam sought a relief of Rs 39,565 crores for tackling the severe drought in all the 32 districts of the state following failure of monsoon for two years and Modi reportedly assured to provide possible support to the state.
