The Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) application launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being received well across the country. But it seems, Hyderabadis are yet to get convinced with the usage of the app.

So far, on Google Playstore, the app has over 1,69,485 downloads, but the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) officials say that it has crossed 3 million downloads. The data for city wise download rate for the application is unavailable, say NPCI officials.

“I have downloaded the BHIM app and I am ready to accept payments through the app, but so far there has been no single customer who has even made an inquiry about the payment gateway at my store,” says Dinesh Singh, who runs a Kirana store in Hyderabad.

As there is a lack of awareness about the app and its benefits, BHIM app is not able to achieve any results in Telangana.. So it should be seen, whether Centre makes any attempts to promote it.
