But taking the issue to a whole new level, Maharashtra police are asking the two wheeler riders who avoid wearing helmets, to write essays. The public is forced to write essays on the uses of wearing helmets.
Recently, when 1100 people were caught driving the vehicles in Mumbai, without helmets, Mumbai Traffic police commissioner Jayanth Bajwale ordered all of them to write essays, instead of imposing the fine.
Among 1100 people, 12 got ready to pay the fine and 194 bought new helmets. Doctors, lawyers, engineers and students are in big number, who were caught driving the two wheelers without helmets.
