With the financial assistance of some banking and finance companies, Kazipet based NGO, Bala Vikasa is contemplating to set up "Any Time Water" kiosks in selected localities including Uppal and LB Nagar in Hyderabad.

Regarding this, the NGO is holding discussions with Tirupati Municipal Corporation and Chittur District Collector to set up the ATWs in Tirupati. Bala Vikasa has been into safe drinking water campaign in the rural areas of Telugu states, for over a decade, by setting up reverse osmosis (RO) water plants and ATWs.

It is now planning to extend its services to the urban areas too, as the common public is forced to buy the bottled drinking water at Rs 15 to Rs 20 per litre, whereas ATWs will provide purified and chilled drinking water at just Rs. 1 per litre.

Executive Director of Bala Vikasa S Shoury Reddy said, "If the GHMC comes forward, we are ready to set up ATWs at their choice of location.”
